I do follow Tom already yes, and to answer your question; Americans are not taught equally. I attended public schools in the Metro Detroit area as a kid, only to go to Community College in NYC and realize that nearly half of what I was taught regarding social sciences and history was flawed. Once I began attending a private top-tier University, I realized just how flawed. My experience is far from unique, however, there are many in America who actually grew up thinking critically about their country, as where I and my peers in Michigan were force-fed a lot of bullshit.
I have to believe that part of the problem in America is because of the pervasiveness of bullshit at an early age, which is only compounded professional sports, network television, advertising, and the news.
