I know it’s a bit cliché, but living in Europe has really opened my eyes to peoples relationship with food. First the number of overweight people in France is astonishingly lower than the USA, yet the food is loaded with carbs, sugar, meat, fat, etc… what ISN’T there is Corn Syrup, and a number of other synthetic perservatives. Cheap food in France is still nutritious and tasty, and while fast food exists (American chains mostly) I rarely encounter people who actually eat there. And I’m sure the ingredients must be different. Why is it so hard to eat healthy in America? I think that’s the question, because from what I see, in France at least, eating is simple.
