I published an article that I put my heart and soul into and spent several full days researching and writing. I was delighted when it was picked up, and I was super eager to see how people received it. Within 30 minutes I had received notification that someone commented, and I eagerly went to read it. I was crushed to see that it was someone saying that my article didn’t work and that it was also way too long. I actually started researching the person who left the comment to understand who they were, and why they would say that. It ended up being a waste of time because every comment thereafter was positive, and the article itself was indeed quite successful. Why did this gentleman feel the need to criticize me? I do now know, but I do thank him for his feedback, as it is a reminder that not everyone will like my word, even if most people do.
