Lot’s of hate responses to this, allow me to offer a positive spin. First of all, all the hate responses actually contribute to your MPP payments, so take solace in that. Second, well-formulated and thoughtful article, that I mostly disagree with. I do agree that competition is a good idea, partially because competition forces people to be innovative and accountable. I disagree, however, that having a national system in place that guarantees people access to medical treatment is a bad idea. I think in the instance of the USA, it should perhaps be run at the state level, but there should absolutely be a system that prevents people from dying from avoidable causes, prevents doctors from having to choose who lives and who dies, and prevents patients from experiencing financial ruin. I can attest that other western nations, such as France, have a much better handle on things.
