Reading this was like reading an article comparing the USA to a Disneyland version of Marxist Utopia. You talk about “European Standard of Living” like it’s arisen from a war-torn society that gave everything it had to resist evil. Reality, is that the countries — in the world — with the highest standards of living are former Axis countries, or they were “neutral.” The exception is Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. Europe has not shrugged off the notion of inequality, nor is it this bastion of goodwill and enlightenment. France is perhaps the most racist and ethnocentric place I’ve ever been. Furthermore, almost all of the European countries are far more closed off to long term immigration than the United States, and many people across Europe are becoming nationalist and hostile to strangers.
