The pill was first introduced in the USA in 1960, and while it was not allowed in all states, we know how well bans work in America, especially when most other states allow it. Griswald v. CT was in 1965, and after that birth control was basically widely available for anyone who wanted it, albeit not officially. The pill was legally made available to unmarried people in 1972, which could perhaps have had an effect, however, Abortion began being legal is in specific states prior to the Roe v. Wade decision, and the crime rate decline in those states began earlier than the rest of the nation. So there is that.
